LIVING LONGER...

For the devout, there has never been a question; prayer has the power to heal.
Now more and more medical research from leading hospitals and
universities across the US has shown conclusively that a belief in God really
is good for you, and can make you healthier, happier, and induce you to live
longer to boot.

Studies have shown prayer can prevent people from getting sick, and when
they do get sick, prayer can help them get better faster, Duke University’s Dr.
Harold Koenig tells Newsmax.  An exhaustive analysis of more than 1500
reputable medical studies indicates people who are more religious and pray more
have better mental and physical health.   The studies also reveal that the regular churchgoers live longer.

A study done last year in the Southern Medical Journal showed that prayer has a remarkable effect on patients with hearing and visual deficiencies.   Significant improvements were founded through prayer.

What’s more, is the benefits of devout religious practice, particularly involvement in a faith community and religious commitment, are that people cope better...they experience less depression, less anxiety, and they commit suicide less often.
They have stronger immune systems, lower blood pressure, etc… The proof of the power of prayer is overwhelming says researcher and writer Tom Knox, a one-time atheist who became a regular worshipper after doing an in depth study of the medical benefits of faith.

Study after study backs up the benefits of having faith, especially in prolonging life.

In 2006, population researchers at the University of Texas discovered that the
more often you go to church, the longer you live.  Religious attendance is associated with adult
mortality.  There is a seven year difference in life expectancy between those who never attend church and those who attend weekly.

Another study done by the US Journal ofGerontology revealed that atheists had a significantly increased chance of dying over a six year period than the faithful.   Religious people lived longer than atheists.

Prayer intercession also has been shown to have a positive impact across a wide range of diseases and disorders.
Paraphrased...people suffering from heart problems, AIDS and arthritis all did better physically through prayer intercession than those that did not have that benefit.

In a study of nearly 92,000 people in Maryland, people who attended church once or more a week had 50 % fewer deaths from Coronary Heart Disease, 56% fewer deaths from lung diseases, 74% fewer deaths from Cirrhosis, and 53% fewer suicides.

Atheists can sneer at faith all they like, but they can’t assume science is on their side.

From Col Ernie Hatchell USAF (Ret):

For those who are interested in how we actually arrived at this sorry state

of American affairs, there is one additional historical figure that deserves

mentioning: Antonio Gramsci. Sources have indicated that Obama was an avid

reader of Gramsci's writings, and was heavily influenced by them.

Gramsci was a "new" Marxist, who was a leading figure in the Italian

Communist Party after WWI. Although he died in 1937, after being jailed by

Mussolini, his writings continue to provide roadmaps to power for today's

American Progressives, like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. While Saul

Alinsky wrote about radical tactics to seize power, Gramsci focused on the

overall strategies.

He diverted from Karl Marx, who believed that a revolution of the masses was

economic in nature, by emphasizing the power concepts of "hegemony" and

"gradualism." Instead of advocating bomb-throwing uprisings, Gramsci

advocated a termite-like approach, chewing away at capitalism and

democracy's structures from within, gradually. Like the frog who is placed

in a pot of water that is brought slowly to a boil, never knowing what

killed him, Gramsci suggested certain steps were necessary as a prerequisite

to grabbing power: Attack the concept of national patriotism, check Control the media, underway Eliminate religion, underway Infiltrate the educational process, US Department of Education Destroy the concepts of marriage and family, Homosexual rights, marriage  A commentator in the New Republic wrote an analysis of this process: The

first phase in achieving "cultural hegemony" over a nation is the undermining of all elements of traditional culture. Churches are thus transformed into ideology-driven political clubs, with the stress on "social justice" and egalitarianism, with worship reduced to trivialized

entertainment, and with age-old doctrinal and moral teachings "modernized"

or diminished to the point of irrelevancy. Genuine education is replaced by

"dumbed down" and "politically correct" curricula, and standards are reduced

dramatically. The mass media are fashioned into instruments for mass

manipulation and for harassing and discrediting traditional institutions and

their spokesmen. Morality, decency, and old virtues are ridiculed without

respite. Tradition-minded clergymen are portrayed as hypocrites and virtuous

men and women as prudish, stuffy, and unenlightened.

Culture is no longer a buttress supporting the integrity of the national

heritage and a vehicle for imparting that heritage to future generations,

but becomes a means for "destroying ideals and ... presenting the young not

with heroic examples but with deliberately and aggressively degenerate

ones," as theologian Harold O.J. Brown writes. We see this in contemporary

American life, in which the great historical symbols of our nation's past,

including great presidents, soldiers, explorers, and thinkers, are shown to

have been unforgivably flawed with "racism" and "sexism" and therefore

basically evil. Their place has been taken by pro-Marxist charlatans, pseudo-

intellectuals, rock stars, leftist movie celebrities, and the like. At

another level, traditional Christian culture is condemned as repressive,

"Eurocentric," and "racist" and, thus, unworthy of our continued devotion.

In its place, unalloyed primitivism in the guise of "multicult uralism" is

held as the new model. Marriage and family, the very building blocks of our society, are

perpetually attacked and subverted. Marriage is portrayed as a plot by men

to perpetuate an evil system of domination over women and children. The

family is depicted as a dangerous institution epitomized by violence and

exploitation. Patriarchally oriented families are, according to the

Gramscians, the precursors of fascism, Nazism, and every organized form of

racial persecution. For me, my research on Gramsci and his modern American disciples has

crystallized the essence of our current predicament. Our house has been

invaded by political termites, and with one little bite at a time, they have

brought it close to collapse. Our generation has been asleep at the wheel,

and we are going to pay mightily for it. One last item---Gramsci theorized that a massive economic collapse that could be blamed on traditional holders of power (past Administrations, Wall Street, the Tea Party) could be the catalyst to achieve not only cultural,

but political power, and shock the illiterate masses of the lower and middle

class into seeking radical change. In that light, consider the civil unrest

of the past year, such as the Arab Spring, the Occupy Wall Street

protestors, ACORN, and Obama's favorite union, the SEIU.

We have arrived at the cliff's edge, and are staring down at the abyss..

QUESTION ON HEAVEN?

BASIC TRUTHS OF HEAVEN

First, let’s take the Bible verses that are the standard definition of who is a Christian:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV)

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 (NIV)

For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23 (NIV)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)

To summarize, the only way to be saved and go to heaven is by the grace of Jesus and by faith in God. These are the basic verses that every Christian who has accepted Christ knows. Now for the verses that clearly state that only Christians who believe the above will go to Heaven:

-John 3:3: no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.
-John 3:15: everyone who believes in him [Jesus] may have eternal life.
-John 3:18: whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of Gods one and only Son.
-John 14:6: Jesus answered: No one comes to the Father except through me
-Acts 3:23: And it shall be, that every soul that shall not hearken to that prophet, shall be utterly destroyed from among the people. (ASV)
-Acts 4:12: Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved
-Romans 10:9: Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved
-Hebrews 9:28: he [Christ] will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him
-1 John 5:12: he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

The nine quoted verses above clearly state that only Christians can go to Heaven.
