A Breath Of Traditional Worship

Posted September 21, 2011

The Breath and the Heart of old traditional worship that goes back centuries is found here at St. Jude's and in our denomination.

It is here where there is no orchestra, no dancing, no jam band, no entertainment center or movie screens and no grape juice.  It is not known for comedy but for fervent and reverent worship.  No power struggles here and no politics...We are here to Worship God and have fellowship with each other as the Disciples and early Christians did long ago.  We have no break in our Apostolic Succession.

Our worship is taken from the old Liturgy; it is not stale but alive and has the heartbeat of the King James Version of the Bible in which we did of old.  It has the aroma of the 1928 Book of Common Prayer which contains some portions of the 1660 an 1549 BCP's/Liturgy.  Our Hymnal is of the 1940 and Great Hymns of the Past.

This Worship Service is meant for serious Christians of the Community of Faith with deep spiritual roots.  The Sacraments are pure and Graced by God.  We are, in time and  space, closer to the age of the Disciples than any other church on the planet, that I am aware of.  What does this mean to you.....it means we are not contaminated with man's modern religious philosophies and theologies.  We are NOT politically correct as we do not tone down God's Word. We are not pluralistic nor relativistic.

We are: "A FEW GOOD CHRISTIANS."   If this is for you....We are for you...Join us this Sunday.

Blessings+++

Fr. Mark

About St. Jude

St. Jude, The Apostle

Saint Jude Thaddeus was one of the 12 Apostles of Jesus. He was a brother of St. James the Less, and a relative of Our Savior.  Saint Jude was the one who asked Jesus at the Last Supper why He would not manifest Himself to the whole world after His resurrection. Little else is known of his life.

Ancient writers tell us that he preached the Gospel in Judea, Samaria, Idumaea, Syria, Mesopotamia, and Lybia. According to Eusebius, he returned to Jerusalem in the year 62, and assisted at the election of his brother, St. Simeon, as Bishop of Jerusalem.
